Hello, and welcome to my blog/Bonjour, et bienvenue à mon journal électronique. As some of you may know my name is Andrew and starting this August I am beginning a year on exchange in Belgium through Rotary International. With a little effort on my part I should be able to keep up with posting on this blog weekly and on special occasions as the year goes on, though I know there will be times I will be doing so much it will be hard to stay on top of it. I'll try my best though.
So anyways, I've decided that this blog really needs to become something of a resource for future outbound students as I've found it hard myself to get good answers some of the time. This means that in addition to sharing my adventures I'll be doing my best to be critical and elaborate on some of the negative aspects and learning experiences I go through in the months leading up to, and during my exchange. I'll also start to make this as much of a bilingual blog as I can once my French improves and I meet more people in Belgium who I can share it with.
Well I'm still four months away from leaving but I've already got quite a story to tell and even some things to offer my two cents on, so I'll finish this introductory entry now and let you get on to seeing what life as an exchange student is like. -Andrew
